STRENGTH & BALANCE CLASSES BUILT FOR THE SECOND HALF OF LIFE
Physio-led. Small groups. No gym intimidation, no experience needed.
From our forties onwards we lose muscle every decade… unless we deliberately rebuild it.
Strength training is the closest thing we have to slowing ageing: stronger bones, better balance, fewer falls, and the everyday independence that comes from a body you can rely on..
WHAT A CLASS LOOKS LIKE
Proper strength work, scaled to you
Small groups, led by a physiotherapist. Weights, big functional movements and balance training taught at your level.
Simple, effective, and scaled to you. When you’re ready to make it harder, we’ll show you how.
£120 per month for 4 classes a month.
“It’s not about six-packs. It’s about carrying the shopping in, lifting the grandkids or getting up off the floor without a second thought.”
WHO’S IN THE ROOM
People who look like you.
Nobody here is training for anything. They’re all just getting stronger and most of them arrived convinced this wasn’t for them.

WHY IT MATTERS
What strength training actually gives you.
Stronger bones
Loading your skeleton is one of the few things that genuinely helps bone density which matters enormously as we age.
Better balance
Balance is trainable at any age. Fewer wobbles, fewer falls, and far more confidence on stairs, kerbs and uneven ground.
Everyday independence
The strength to get off the floor, carry the shopping and lift a grandchild is the strength that keeps you living the way you want to.
WHO IT’S FOR
These classes are for you if…
- You’ve never lifted a weight and wouldn’t set foot in a normal gym
- You’ve had an osteoporosis diagnosis, or a DEXA scan that made you think
- You’ve finished one of our courses and want to keep building
- You’re managing a condition and want strength work with clinical eyes on it
After receiving an osteroporosis diagnosis, I heard about the Strength & Balance classes at Cottesloe Physio and decided to come and have a chat with Bethan and the team. I was very nervous about starting – the diagnosis had been a shock and having always been an independent person, I didn’t know what I could and couldn’t do, in order to be safe and not worsen my condition. I’m now 16 months into my strength journey, not only can I now lift much heavier in the class, I’m more confident in my every day life. I really enjoy it and I’m keen to work towards a goal, increasing my deadlift weight which is now at 30kg.
