Are you interested in improving your running and avoiding injuries? Runners often neglect training that doesn’t involve running but taking some time to work on your strength and flexibility can have a huge impact.
There is no doubt about it running can take its toll on your body. Strength training helps your body to better deal with the stresses of running. Your muscles will be able to perform longer before getting fatigued which will help you maintain your proper running form and avoid injuries.
Whether you are running a marathon, 5k, or simply looking to return to running after injury the combination of dynamic warm-ups, technique drills and strengthening exercises will provide the perfect accompaniment to your training plan!
The workshop is 2 hours long and will be split into three sections:
- Warm up – focusing on running technique and posture
- Strength and Conditioning – With Hunt Fitness
- Mobility and myofascial release
Louise Butcher and Bethan Warren are Physio’s and Pilates instructors at Cottesloe Physio, Louise brings to the table her own experiences from running the London Marathon for the 2nd time this year. Having also run in the London Marathon this year Charlotte Hunt brings her incredible energy and passion for fitness and running adding her expertise into the strength and conditioning aspects. With just 10 people in each workshop you will get individual attention during the exercises to correct your form and make sure you are working the correct muscles and avoiding injury.
